What "full set" means, and when it matters
Box, papers, tags and links: what a complete set includes and how much it should change the price.
2 min read
"Full set" is the most used phrase in pre-owned watches and one of the least consistent. In our listings it means everything the watch came with when it was first sold.
What is included
Usually the inner and outer box, the warranty card or certificate, booklets, hang tags and any spare bracelet links. For older pieces, original purchase receipts and service papers count too.
When it matters
For modern Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, papers can make a real difference to value and to how easily the watch sells later. For vintage pieces, an original receipt can matter more than the box.
How we describe it
Every listing says exactly what is present, for example "box and warranty card" rather than "full set" when the tags or links are missing. If something is missing, we say so.
